The Center for Construction Studies and Materials Analysis (CECAM) is dedicated to quality control in construction and production processes across diverse sectors. In collaboration with companies and administrations, CECAM guarantees total quality in all phases of a project. Utilizing laboratory facilities, they conduct research, studies, reports, and certifications in various areas, including materials, chemistry, water, microbiology, waste, and geology.
In 2022, CECAM began using the patented Orono Spectral Solutions (OSS) ClearShot technology to safely and accurately test wastewater samples for the measurement of oil in water. According to Susanna Roca Badosa, Chemical Department Analyst at CECAM, “Our collaboration with OSS has resulted in reduced complexity in our testing, significantly enhancing efficiency and precision.” The OSS innovative method also allows for the identification of oils present in the samples without any additional steps required.
Carme Llenas, Head of the Environmental Laboratories of the Department of Chemistry at CECAM, said, “Utilizing OSS ClearShot Technology has offered numerous advantages over traditional oil-in-water testing methods. This novel approach enhances operator safety, accelerates testing speed, and improves result accuracy, all while eliminating the need for solvents in the measurement process.”
