ClearSampler

Sampling.  Simple.  Solved.

One device that is capable of collecting any chem, bio, TIC, TIM explosive and narcotic agent

Successfully collects agents from any surface (plastic, metal, painted metal, roughened asphalt, concrete, cermics, wood, vegetation, clothing and much more

Collector material products interfering IR signature when used with ATR-IR based detectors (no changes to onboard ID algorithyms

Collector material also being tested with Raman and imS hardware

Made of ruggedized material capable of withstanding harsh sampling and environmental conditions (high resistance to corrosion, temperature, shock)

A multi-agent surface sampling-device that is fully integrated with chemical identifier

Proven technology has been successfully tested at ECBC against live agents and NTAs on a variety of different surfaces

Completely streamlined collection to identification process

Fully integrated with known and trusted detection system hardware

Works with any powder, liquid or chemical residue on ANY surface

Proven technology

Field portable ATR-FTIR chemical analyzers are powerful tools for identifying unknown powder and liquid samples. However, one of the main challenges in using these analyzers is simply getting the sample to your analyzer.

To overcome this often overlooked but critically important step in sample analysis, a new industry standard now exists that will solve all of your sampling needs: the ClearSampler™.

The ClearSampler chemical sampling kit consists of single use discs, a convenient carry case, and a ruggedized handle optimized for use with personal protective gear. The sampling disc is constructed of a ruggedized material capable of collecting any powder, liquid or residue off of a wide variety of surfaces (ex: smooth, rough, metal, glass, plastic, cloth, wood), as well as hard to reach areas (ex: behind door handles, vehicle wheel wells). After conducting a sample collection and FTIR measurement, the decon-able handle can be easily reloaded with a new disc for additional collections.

The ClearSampler has been optimized to work with the integrated solid press design used by Smiths Detection line of chemical analyzers (HazMatIDTM, HazMatID 360TM, HazMatID EliteTM, Target-IDTM, and ACE-IDTM), as well as similar chemical analyzers from other manufacturers (Thermo, Bruker).

ACCURACY

Unlike other swab materials, such as cotton tip applicators, the active surface of the ClearSampler has been specifically designed to have no FTIR absorption profile. As a result, the ClearSampler does not produce an interfering signal that masks the signal of the target chemical. This provides unprecedented accuracy in ATR-FTIR surface sampling and enables new applications in decon verification, explosives residues analysis, and hazardous material assessment.

FEATURES/BENEFITS

  • Simplifies the entire sample-collection-to-identification process with an all-in-one solution
  • Designed for easy and accurate sample alignment with a solid press sample interface
  • Ruggedized handle for easy operation in personal protective gear
  • Nondestructive analysis, samples can be archived for evidentiary uses
  • Expands FTIR applications in decon verification, explosives analysis, and hazardous materials assessment
  • Convenient packaging for easy storage and field deployment

"The ClearSampler has been a life saver. We can now collect and measure any sample we encounter in the hot zone in a matter of seconds. This tool is a must for anybody using a HazMatID analyzer" - Gabriel Benmoussa, Firefighter/Hazmat Specialist, City of Goodyear (AZ) Fire Department Hazmat Response Team
